| Before you select or take your reference photograph Amanda strongly suggests that you spend a little time reading the ‘Tips on Reference Photography’. These tips should assist you to look critically at your photographs before taking and/or selecting them.
Take special care to make sure the person/pet is looking (stance/posture, clothing, and facial expression etc) the way you want them to look in your portrait. Since Amanda only has a photograph as a guide she is not able to achieve a good likeness of the person/pet if she has to imagine what they look like in a different pose. Therefore Amanda will not make changes where she has to imagine how the person/pet would naturally appear. Amanda will need to refer to a second photograph to make minor adjustments (like removing red eyes or skin blemishes) so that your portrait better resembles the person/pet. |
